About me

Hi, I’m Ciro Simone Irmici, a software developer and AI specialist from San Severo, Italy. I built Bestiepedia myself, like its siblings Honest Toolkit and Honest Stylist.

I’m not a vet. What I do is read the veterinary sources (WSAVA, the Merck Veterinary Manual, the Pet Nutrition Alliance, ESCCAP, International Cat Care, the ASPCA and others), turn their numbers into tools anyone can use, and cite them on every page so you can check them yourself.

Why: whoever lives with a pet looks for answers on ten different sites, many with wrong numbers (the “times seven” for dog years) or written by people selling pet food. Here everything is in one place, free, with the sources written down. I also make Faunly, an app that reminds you of shots, deworming and vet visits for all your pets: when it’s available on the stores, you’ll find it here.

Found a mistake, a number that doesn’t match its source, or have an idea? Write to me: I fix mistakes within 48 hours.
